Medical imaging is a vocationally oriented course that plays a key role within the health care industry by providing referring medical practitioners with diagnostic information to assist in patient management and treatment. In addition to general radiography, modern radiography departments may offer ultrasound, mammography, computed tomography scanning (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and bone mineral densitometry.

Medical imaging offers study in a range of general topics including anatomy, patient care, psychology, medical computing and radiation physics as well as specialist imaging subjects.
