QUT is committed to working with school communities to enhance the science education and experiences available to students. The Faculty offers a range of activities designed to increase awareness and interest in science and mathematics.

For year 12 students at that important decision-making stage in their lives, QUT offers a number of opportunities to discuss study and career options with academic staff at information events.

Students have the opportunity to experience university life and learn about the exciting range of careers available in science and mathematics. QUT staff visit schools, or alternatively group visits to the QUT campus can be arranged.

The Start QUT Program allows students to commence university studies while still completing high school.

The Extreme Science van runs interactive science workshops for school students. The van can also assist science teachers through the provision of scientific resources and general academic support.

Students can participate in Science Olympiads in the biology, chemistry, physics, informatics and mathematics disciplines.
