Basic Radiographic Techniques for X-Ray Operators

The Basic Radiographic Techniques For X-ray Operators (Chest and Extremities) course provides participants with the basic physical principles and radiographic techniques used in radiographing the chest and extremities. The course is designed for health or allied health professionals engaged in limited routine radiography. In addition to lectures, the program provides for practical instruction and development of basic positioning and technical skills.

Cardiac Ultrasound Modules

The Advanced Cardiac Ultrasound Modules are designed to be of particular benefit to sonographers engaged in the performance of Vascular or Cardiac Ultrasound, particularly those preparing for either Part 1 or Part 2 of the Diploma in Medical Ultrasonography (DMU, Vascular or Cardiac), as offered by the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM). The program covers a broad range of topics in a comprehensive format and will be of benefit also to persons wishing to expand or update their knowledge and skills in the area of vascular or cardiac ultrasound.

CT for Radiation Therapists

The CT for Radiation Therapists course have been designed to advance the skills of a radiation therapist to include knowledge of the fundamentals of CT imaging production, clinical application to major sites of the body and the operation of CT equipment in a radiotherapy situation.

Radiation Safety for X-ray Technologists

Please note this course is offered in external mode only

The Radiation Safety for X-ray Technologists course is approved by Queensland Health as fulfilling the X-ray safety training requirements for licences authorising use of irradiating apparatus during maintenance, repair and/or installation. It also satisfies the radiation hygiene component for accreditation with the Australian Society of X-ray Technologists. The course may also be of interest to others, eg sales persons, allied health professionals, laboratory technicians and research personnel who sometimes encounter X-ray apparatus during the course of their work.
