Introductory Lighting Series |
|
This series of two units is designed as an introduction to the scientific basics of lighting. The units are particularly relevant to people who are entering, or working in the lighting industry, but have had limited or no tertiary background in mathematics or science. Depending on their level of knowledge and competency, students may elect to undertake both units or just the second unit which follows on from the first. Successful completion of the second unit ILS-2 (Introductory Science for Lighting), coupled with demonstrated experience in the lighting industry, will be sufficient qualification for entry into the Graduate Certificate in Lighting at QUT. Note however that ILS-1 and/or ILS-2 are not pre-requisites for entry into PH62 Graduate Certificate in Lighting. Students with an undergraduate degree in science, engineering or architecture, or equivalent, may enter directly into the Graduate Certificate program. The material covered in ILS-1 and ILS-2 is considered to be essential basic knowledge for the Graduate Certificate course and it is recommended that potential students are comfortable in their knowledge and understanding of this material when they enter the course. The Introductory Lighting Series Course Synopsis provides a breakdown of the material covered in these two short courses. ILS-1 and ILS-2 will be offered each year, just prior to the commencement of PH62 Graduate Certificate in Lighting. Students wishing to enroll in units from the Introductory Lighting Series should complete a Registration form and post or fax it back to Dr Ian Cowling (Coordinator - Lighting Course). To obtain a Registration form, please contact Dr Ian Cowling. For course enquiries: For registration enquiries: |
