Science facilitiesIn accordance with the real-world focus of a university of technology, cutting-edge science facilities are available in the Faculty to support teaching and research at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Scholarships and bursariesSeveral scholarships and bursaries are provided, most of which are awarded on the basis of merit. Student PrizesStudent prizes are awarded in a wide range of units (subjects) and discipline areas. Each of the four Schools of the Faculty holds an awards evening each year to present the prizes to the recipients. How to applyIf you are considering applying to enter one of the courses offered by the Faculty of Science, the procedure to be followed depends on a number of factors, for example whether the course is undergraduate or postgraduate and whether you are applying as a school-leaver, a mature-age student, or an international student. Be sure to check out the correct procedure on how to apply in your particular situation. Assumed KnowledgeThe assumed knowledge requirements of our courses are listed under the individual course entry (see detailed course and career information). Students who do not meet assumed knowledge requirements are strongly encouraged to undertake preparatory studies in the relevant discipline area. QUT offers bridging courses in Chemistry, Maths B and Physics (commencing in October) which enables students to meet the assumed knowledge for their chosen course. The Faculty of Science also offers MAB105 Preparatory Mathematics during summer semester (commencing January). Students seeking entry into the Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Science), Bachelor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Biomedical Science without the assumed knowledge of Senior Maths B are strongly advised to undertake MAB105 or a Maths B bridging program prior to enrolling in their course.
